Mr. Hyde Simplified

Mr. Hyde is a stimulant-heavy pre-workout made by ProSupps.

It aims to improve pumps, endurance, and strength for better workouts.

We don’t recommend using more than one scoop of Mr. Hyde at once, due to its high caffeine content.

  • 4.2 cups of coffee’s worth of caffeine per scoop
  • Caffeine Citrate – Fast-releasing caffeine
  • Dicaffeine Malate – Slow-releasing Caffeine

Mr. Hyde includes 3 different types of caffeine, intended to provide a steady flow of energy throughout your workout, and reduce the “crash” effect.

  • Caffeine – Improves alertness and motivation
  • Hordenine – May improve mood and alertness (stimulant and MAO inhibitor)
  • Choline Bitartrate – May improve cognition and focus (ineffective)
  • GABA – May promote calmness and relaxation (ineffective)

Hordenine has shown some stimulant effects and could improve mood.

Choline Bitartrate is the cheapest form of Choline, and not as effective for mood and focus purposes as other forms such as CDP-Choline.

GABA may not have much effect due to its tight regulation by the human body.

  • Caffeine – Can improve power output and endurance at the dose provided
  • Creatine Nitrate – Can increase endurance via nitric oxide production (but poor dose of creatine for strength and power benefits)
  • Beta Alanine – Improves endurance by delaying fatigue (poor dose)
  • L-Citrulline Aspartate – Can improve endurance via nitric oxide production (poor dose)
  • Agmatine – May improve endurance via Nitric Oxide production (needs more research)

The dose of beta-alanine is on the small side for performance effects.

Although the individual effects of the Nitrate, L-Citrulline, and Agmatine components are small, they may have additive effects on endurance.

  • Creatine Nitrate – Vasodilation via nitric oxide production (good dose)
  • Agmatine – Vasodilation via nitric oxide production (good dose)
  • L-Citrulline Aspartate – Vasodilation via Nitric Oxide production (poor dose)

Agmatine has shown very good promise for pumps anecdotally, but not enough formal studies have been published.

  • Hordenine – Fat-burner
  • Yohimbe/Yohimbine – Fat-burner (poor dose)

We’re giving Mr. Hyde 1 bonus point for including an effective dose of fat-burning ingredients.

Just one serving of Mr. Hyde provides a huge stimulant kick!

It performs well across the rest of the categories, but could improve doses of ingredients such as creatine and those involved in enhancing pumps.

The “Intensity Matrix” includes a couple of potential fat-burning compounds in Hordenine and Yohimbine, which may be a nice bonus during a cutting phase.
