How the score works
Every formula on SuppsSimplified is scored the same way: doses first, marketing never. Here's exactly what goes into the number.
Every ingredient is read off the label
We transcribe the full supplement facts panel — each ingredient and its exact dose per serving. Proprietary blends are flagged, because an undisclosed dose can't be verified.
Doses are compared to the research
Each ingredient is checked against the dose used in peer-reviewed human trials. Hitting the clinically effective dose earns full credit; underdosing scales the credit down sharply.
Evidence quality is weighted
Ingredients with strong, replicated human data count for more than ones supported only by early or animal research. Filler ingredients contribute nothing.
Category profiles are built
Ingredients are mapped to the outcomes they actually drive — Energy, Mood/Focus, Pumps and Performance for pre-workouts, Appetite Suppression and Fat-burning for fat burners.
The overall score is calculated
The weighted ingredient credits roll up into a single 0–10 formula score, then into a letter grade. Price metrics like cost per point sit alongside it, never inside it.
The grading scale
What the score is not
- It isn't a taste, mixability or brand-reputation rating.
- It isn't influenced by whether a product has an affiliate link.
- It isn't medical advice — check with a professional before supplementing.
